What's new in the latest version?

A new simple search facility has been added allowing for easier searching. The main menu has been altered to accommodate it. So to access the new simple search facility click 'Search' and to access the full search facility, click 'Search & Mailings (Advanced)'.
A languages button has been added to client and candidate records. Languages can be set in the Menu Tables on the Admin menu. Languages can be searched through Search & Mailings and the new simpler Search.
Capturing candidate details from a CV can now be done by highlighting information e.g. a phone number and right-clicking to see a menu of available fields. The drag and drop function is still available.
It is now only possible to search for closed vacancies in Search & Mailings.
An 'Open form' button has been added to CV Search so that a candidate's record can be opened if one exists.
Formatting of telephone numbers can now be turned off with a setting.
Minor bug fixes.

A facility has been added that allows certain client or candidate records to be restricted, meaning that the records are only visible or accessible to users with the appropriate permissions.
A link to the E-Coms bulk emailing service has been added to Search & Mailings which allows you to send bulk emails through a service. This facility requires a subscription.
Improved facility for merging companies. Drag a company onto the company name (left hand panel of an open company record) and right click for merge options.
CV Searching added to Search & Mailings. This requires a data service update.
The 'Email' button on a client or candidate record now opens a blank email to the recipient directly in Outlook (not available for Lotus Notes users). The log will be updated with the content of the sent email. Right click the 'Email' button to send an email via the RS Emailer instead.
Revised colour scheme for some forms.
Bug fixes and minor changes.

The log options in the Emailer toolbar are now visible in Windows Vista.
In the Call Backs screen you can now create a call back by dragging a client or candidate from the right hand panel onto the appropriate day of the calendar.
Bug fixes.

There is now an export facility to send selected clients from the Search & Mailings results to the Client List on the Sales Calls form. This makes the creating of a sales call list a lot more flexible.
In the Emailer, the salutations drop down has been changed to present just the placeholders for LastName, FirstName, DisplayName, Job Title and Company. Users can select an appropriate name(s) and add the 'Dear', 'Hi', 'Cher', etc. themselves to the body text in the email body.
Users who do not have export rights set by the Administrator can now not copy data from Search & Mailings, My Clients and My Candidates and paste it into Excel spreadsheets.
In the company tree panel, the Vacancies (under a client) are expanded by default to be consistent with previous usage. There is now a right click option to collapse the Vacancy nodes to compact the tree.
Bug fix on New Client and New Candidate buttons on the Company form.

A multi-branch facility has been added to the Company form to handle companies with more than one branch.
The concept of Disciplines has been introduced to Candidates, Clients and Vacancies. This will be featured in a forthcoming tutorial.
The data service on your PC or server that holds your Recruit Studio data must be updated to enable these two new features. See instructions on how to update your data service.
Issues with emailing via Lotus Notes have been resolved.
An option to email directly via SMTP has been added.
Users can now be designated as Administrator, Manager or Consultant to enable various levels of access to certain functions.

Email address validation is now available. Any incorrect email addresses will be prefixed with a '?' in the Email field.
Minor bug fixes

In Search & Mailings you can now search for Hot Lists as well as closed vacancies.
There is now a company status field. (Requires a database update.)
In Search & Mailings there is now a segments panel so you can see the segments relating to a particular client or candidate.
Further changes to reminders.
It is now possible to see which user last edited a client, company, candidate or vacancy record. (Requires a database update.)
Only public CVs are sent by the Emailer. To make a CV public, right click a CV in the candidate's Attachments panel and choose 'Make CV public'.
CVs in PDF format can now be public CVs.
The Emailer now displays the email signature automatically in the content panel.
Changing the sector of a company now changes the sectors for clients/candidates if required.
The Sales Meeting button has been removed from the logs toolbar when in a company or vacancy form.
When skills are captured from a CV in a candidate form then all skills are used in the scan of the CV, not just the skills for the particular sector.
If you have more than 20 tabs open then a message is shown when you open another tab.
Emailing via Lotus Notes now handles Unicode characters correctly.
Emails background is now set to transparent.
The following functions are now Admin only: Database Update, Add/Remove Users, Delete Sector, Menu table buttons for menu dataset access and export users list, Stop Data Service.
You can now populate the client call list in the Sales Calls form from your Hotlist of clients.

A 'Not interested' box has been added to the Candidate status panel in the 'Candidates' tab on Vacancy records, likewise in the 'Client List' tab on Candidate records.
The reminder pop up box has been replaced by a popup list on the Reminders button on the lower toolbar. Clicking on a call back in the Reminders list opens the Call Back form and highlights the call back.
A Document panel has been added to the right hand panel of the screen. This can be seen by clicking 'Show documents' on the View menu. Documents can be opened in the browser or dragged into the Emailer or into the Attachments panels on records. Shortly, users will be able to edit and save these files with an icon in Attachments.
Documents (and other template icons) can be entered or edited/deleted using the new template editor on the Admin menu.

Recruit Studio 2009 version has been issued.
There is now a Search Companies button on the Candidate record so you can seach for Companies as well as Vacancies.
The new Search & Mailings is now on the Main Menu.
A whiteboard is now available on the Main Menu. It is a general all user message board.
The default font in the Emailer is now Ariel.
